Paramus Police Mourn Loss Of Dispatcher Benson, Retired PO Lepera

PARAMUS, N.J. — The Paramus Police Department suffered two losses this week with the unexpected deaths of longtime Communications Coordinator Sean Benson, Sr., and Retired Police Officer Albert "Skip" Lepera.

Benson, 50, has worked in the department since 1982, served as Office of Emergency Management Communications Specialist and was an active member and former department chief of the Paramus Fire Department.

“Sean was an integral part of the Department and will be extremely missed,” the department said on its Facebook page.

Benson leaves behind a wife and 3 children. Arrangements are not yet available.

Lepera , 54, served the department from January 1987 until May 2006. An early member of the Paramus PD Motorcycle Unit, he retired after after being injured in a line of duty motorcycle accident.
